Summer fun... one year down and an eternity to go!

Our summer is coming to an end. Trav and I start school up again next week! But I think we had quite an eventful summer. We went on a little weekend trip with the Tichenor family to California. It happened to be our One year anniversary! and we were in about the same spot that we were on our honeymoon. We have had so much fun this past year! and I can't wait for what eternity has in store for us!

Of course we had to go to a base ball game. Angels vs Texas- Angels won. We had a lot of fun. Major League baseball games are a lot of fun. Hopefully we'll get to go to more.

We Spent a day at Newport beach. We had burns for about two weeks after:( The water was freezing cold at first, then you got used to it. I learned how to body surf.. I had a great teacher ;)
We saw dolphins riding the waves, sadly we didn't get any good pictures, but it was so cool to see real wild dolphins right where we were about to swim.

What better to end a good trip off then going to the temple. The church we went to was right next to the Newport Beach Temple. It was beautiful! We didn't have a lot of time so we hope to go back and visit it again!

Our last Roadrunners game:( There was a professional league baseball team in St. George. They just ended the franchise in St. George because they weren't getting enough support. It was sad, we always had fun going to the games. Hopefully they'll come back next season.

Home Sweet Home!

Wow, its true what they say that if you go with out the people you love for a while, you come back loving them even more! I didn't think it was possible, but I came home loving my husband and family much more. My trip was amazing and I am so grateful I had the opportunity to go learn and grow in many ways. I met amazing people and I was part of some awesome programs. I will be forever grateful for that experience.
After a full day of traveling, I was picked up in the airport by my wonderful husband. It felt so good to be home and to be with the ones I love. We stayed the night there and the next day went to our favorite place to be together. We went to the Las Vegas Temple. It is so beautiful and it was a great way to begin our journey home. I forgot how hot it was here, believe it or not, I missed it. We live in such a beautiful place. I had no problem bragging about our red dirt and beautiful mountains. Home is definitely my Heaven on earth.

Coming to the End...

This is a long blog, but it has been a while. This is there beautiful Lake Powell/ Powell lake but it is huge and has floating cabins and tons of boats! It goes on all through out the mountains. Everyone here is so proud of their beautiful lake. Many houses are built higher so they can see the lake from their homes.

This is there wave breakers. They brought a bunch of huge war ships from World War II to stop the big waves from coming up to the paper mill that is just on the coast. Our hotel is actually right next to it. So we get the beautiful sounds of sirens and factory work all night. It sings us to sleep now. But they are about 5 ships. I thought it was pretty interesting.

This is what I do all day! Just kidding. With rehearsals all day and people partying outside my room all night, I have got to get it in when I can. We have had about 6 hours of Orchestra rehearsal everyday.

This is really cool. My academy time is over and now it is performance time with the community. They have this international Choral festival here every year. It is called Kathaumixw ( I promise that is how you spell it). They have about 30 Choirs from all over the world come and perform for the week. It is basically a competition to be the greatest choir in the world. This community really puts on a show. They have been preparing for the past 2-3 weeks. My orchestra is backing up their community choir for tonight, the opening night. They have it in their "great hall" which is the community hockey rink. It is a neat experience to be part of this tradition here. This is the first year that they are having the academy orchestra play with them. I feel honored to be part of it.

Here are the Auzies and our bus driver name Warren, he is actually Australian too, but has lived here for a while. Me and Katelyn are his favorites, well Katelyn mostly. But he always tells us how much money we are saving by not partying, all though he goes and parties too. But he seems to really respect us for not . I think its just because it gives him lest kids to worry about when he has to bring them home from the town pub at 3 in the morning. But he is a really nice guy.

When we are not rehearsing, eating, or walking, we are on the bus. We kind of get bored sometimes. But we make that time fun.
Well I will probably be home before my next post. I just have one more day! I love you all! See you soon.!!

One Week Down

So here are some fun pics of Powell River. It is always very nice weather here and the people are all really nice. This is Powell Lake and it goes on for a long time.

This is our famous Rodmay Hotel! It is the oldest hotel in Powell River and everyone who hears we are staying here asks us if we have seen ghosts! haha It is funny because the always tell us not to worry because the ghost are really nice.

This is below our hotel, along with a pub. It is the only place to sit and wait for our bus. So I have become fond of the steps!

Ok, so we thought our gas price was bad? haha when I first saw that I had to take a second look. There prices are made up different and they buy gas by the liter. I just thought that looked funny! It is still over five dollars a gallon for them here though.

Here is their Church. About 20 years ago it used to be a old Baptist Church and then was renovated at that time to be a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
It is cute and small. There are about 35 members and half of them or more were converted by missionaries from St. George Utah! I was proud to be from there.

Crab any one? Later we went to the beach, it was windy, but a lot of fun and I found sea shells and I held a crab!!! It was a great accomplishment for me.

Here are some of the girls we hang out with. 3 are from Australia, one is from Georgia, one is from Michigan, and another Canada! It is so cool to meet all these people from all over the world. Everyone is so talented and fun. We have fun with the Australians. They are so fun to talk to. I talk to them about my dad all the time, because he went on his mission to Australia. They laugh at all the stuff I know about Australia and all the songs my dad has taught me from there. We try to switch accents sometimes and they laugh at my "wannabee" Australian accent and I laugh at there "wannabee" southern Utah accents! They are a lot of fun!

The Adventure Begins...

So check out my plane! It fit probably about 15 people. It was awesome! It was way loud and bumpy- but it was awesome because i could see everything below. Canada is a very beautiful place!

Here is the wonderful airport of Powell River! hahaha I died when I saw it. And I thought st. George was small- haha isn't it cute!
I still have to show you guys my hotel- It was the first hotel ever built here. It even has a "pub" in the bottom! I will have more to show soon. I love you all!

Got Thumbs? We played a game that no one could use their thumbs and had to do many tasks.

Me and Trav drove up to Cedar for the next family reunion. Of course the girls were the craziest there!
It was so fun to get away from our crazy lives and spend time them with our families! It is fun to be crazy and have fun with all those you love. Family rocks!

Jess's Graduation

Wow I think we have been to enough graduations to last us a few years- It seems like that has been the theme of my blog. Don't worry this is the last, but I had to say congrats to my awesome sister in-law Jessica. She graduated from high school! Congrats Jess!

We are now finally cooling down for a bit before we really get into all of Chans wedding stuff. A crazy but extremely exciting summer we have in front of us! We are so ready to get the ball rolling!
